On this trip, you will see the monuments from ancient Greece and Roman times, early medieval monuments, the Mediterranean Renaissance, Central European Baroque and the New Age Secession heritage. The world famous segments of the cultural heritage of Croatia: Euphrasius Basilica in Poreč, Diocletian’s Palace in Split, the ancient town Trogir, St. Jacob’s Cathedral in Šibenik, the Stari Grad Plain, the old city of Dubrovnik combined with wonders of Plitvice lakes as a world natural heritage, all enjoy the protection of UNESCO. In other words, there is a little bit of something to suit every taste so let’s go and enjoy them.
Itinerary
Day 1 – Split
Meeting with a tour leader on the Split airport. Accommodation in the hotel. After we check into our hotel, we will take a walk through the heart of Split – the famous Split waterfront of Riva where you will feel the friendly and cozy atmosphere of this vibrant and lively city. The world’s most powerful man, Emperor Diocletian, was faced with the decision on where to spend the rest of his days. Of all of the known world, he chose to build his home in the heart of the region of Dalmatia, setting the first stones in place for the future city of Split. Follow in his footsteps by exploring Diocletian’s Palace and a region home to islands,stunning natural landscapes and a wealth of culture that will defy your expectations. Welcome dinner in restaurant in Split. Overnight.
Day 2 – Split – Klis – Solin
Breakfast. Today we are going to an adventure called the paths of Game of Thrones – Klis medieval forthress situated above a village bearing the same name near the city of Split. Walk the path to the top of Klis Fortress, as it transforms into the Meereen throne, where Daenerys set the slaves free and crucified their wicked owners. And finally, at the end of our tour, you will enjoy an authentic Game of Thrones feast at one of the filming locations. Lunch in Solin, Gašpina mlinica. Overnight.
Day 3 – Drnis – Skradin – NP Krka
Breakfast. We are continuing our journey to Drniš, home place of famous sculptor Ivan Meštrović. While traveling though beautiful and natural landscape we will visit his Museum in Otavice to see his faomous work of arts. Afterwords, we are going to Etno village where you will Enjoy the beautiful scenery, relax and unwind with the magical scenes of idyllic countrysid. Here you will taste traditional homemade dishes and products. Continuing towards NP Krka which is a vast and primarily unaltered area of exceptional natural value, including one or more preserved or insignificantly altered ecosystems. With its seven waterfalls and a total drop in altitude of 242 m, the Krka is a natural and karst phenomenon. Accomodation in the hotel. Overnight.
Day 4 – Knin – Sinj
Breakfast. Today we are visiting the Knin and its famous fortress, foundation of croatian history the royal city in the past. Continuing our journey through vivid natural landscape with a short stop in Vrlika – source of river Cetina. Than we are coming to Sinj. For centuries Sinj has been a pearl each government wanted to adorn itself with, a boundary stone between the coast and the inland, surrounded by the nearby mountain peaks, the Cetina River and its tributaries. In honour of its heavenly patroness the Madonna of Sinj as an eternal vow of devotion and respect, the people of Sinj instituted the Alka – the knights tournament of Sinj. Visiting Museum of Alka in Sinj. Dinner in the hotel. Overnight.
Day 5 – Trilj – Grab – Imotski
Breakfast. We are heading to Trilj the city which is rich with natural unspoilt beauties. It is connected with a bridge to other villages. Here we will visit Grab and its mills where you will see historical making of flower. Old mills of Grab became a destinaiton for many from a widespread area, they came to grind wheat and to enjoy the beauty of this rarely found . File old mills threaded along winding little river of Grab have remained to this day in their original form nd are still regularly put to use, because grinding grain with them is a sure bet for a delicious meal. Lunch in Trilj. Continuing to Imotski. Accommodation. Overnight.
Day 6 – Imotski
Breakfast. Today we are taking you to city of Imotski – Several karst lakes for which Imotska krajina is well-known are situated in the karst area north of the field. We will show you two most famous lakes in our country Blue and Red lake – Previous research has not confirmed the existence of communication between the waters of these two natural phenomena. During the day we are going on wine tasting where you will taste great homemade wines from historical vineyards. Overnight.
Day 7 – Omiš – Split
Breakfast. Welcome to Omiš, small dalmatian city under the mountain connected with a canjon of the river. Enjoy the exquisit landscape and historical sites. For those willing of adventure we prepared great excursion – rafting on river Cetina and for those who want to explore with famous meal in this Poljička republic called Soparnik we prepared small workshop so that you can see how it is prepared. The fact that soparnik is today one of the rare dishes included on the official list of Croatian Intangible Cultural Heritage speaks best to the quality of the local cuisine of Omiš! After this unique experience we are going to Split. Dinner. Overnight.
Day 8 – Split
Breakfast. Today is the last day of our tour. After breakfast, your tour leader and driver will drive you to Split Airport where you are expecting your flight back home. We wish you a safe journey and we hope that you will always gladly remember Croatia and have great memories of these nine days spent with us.
