INTRODUCTORY

In this program we have chosen the most interesting and the most beautiful that middle and south Dalmatia has to offer, especially for you, creating that way a unique combination of land and sea, history and culture, gastronomy and tradition.On the first day you will discover the highlights of 1700 years old Split city, without hiding their pride, the people of Split will tell you that their city is „the most beautiful one iht world and beyond“. Rich cultural and historical heritage that dates back to pre-historic times, unique gastronomy, beautiful beaches and bays, crystal blue sea – all that you will see on the island of Brač and Hvar. Also you will see traditional way of salt production in Ston, the birth town of Marko Polo – Korčula. Immerse yourself in Korčula’s narrow walkways and discover adorned palaces and elegant houses; while in the evening, follow the fading light to reveal a glorious Adriatic sunset. Visiting National park Mljet who is first sea protected area in our country and for the last 50 years it thrills many tourist and visitors. And for the end we saved Dubrovnik with its exquisite natural beauty and well preserved heritagetogether with the Elaphiti islands where you can enjoy the usspoilt nature.

Itenerary

Day 1 – Split

Your experienced tour leader will meet you at Split airport and take you together with your driver to the hotel.Then you are going to visit Split with a local guide. The story of Split is already 17th centuries old, dating from the time when emporer Diocletian decided to build his palace because he choose this city to spend  the last years of his life. During these 1700 years the Palace slowly turned into a city, which to this day lures with its rich tradition, glorious history and beauty of its natural and cultural heritage. On this walking tour you will get to know the Split town and his history in the interesting way. After a refreshing cultural day, you will have the opportunity to enjoy along Split’s well known waterfront Riva. Dinner. Overnight.

 

Day 2 – Island Brač

After breakfast departure by ferry to the island Brač (around 50 min driving), the highest island of Croatia, famous for its premium olive oil and unique white stone. the island of nature and beauty. The island discovery begins with the visit of desert Blaca also known as the Croatian letter “glagoljica” and observatory.  Then you will visit typical dalmatian village where great untouched nature and human creativity make a special ambience. The journey continues towards Vidova gora the highest peak of the island where you will have an amazing view over entire middle Dalmatia archipegalo. The island landscape is dominated by a karst limestone relief, with numerous gullies, crevices, cavities, round valleys and coves. We go back to Supetar to explore before the departure of the ferry.  Arrival to Split. Dinner. Overnight.

Day 3 – Island Hvar

After breakfast departure by ferry to the island of Hvar ( around 2h30min). Upon arrival to the island trip continues towards the city of Hvar – the longest and the sunniest Croatian island and one of the most beautiful islands in the world with its lavander fields. Welcome to Hvar, an ancient city with rich history. With its architecture, beautiful nature and mild climate many would describe it as a true fairy-tale city. Tour of the city where you will see cathedral, the oldest public theatre  in Europe, franciscan monastery and other sites that testify about the restless history of the island. Afterwords you are going to Stari grad the oldest city of the island, and you continue your journey to Jelsa. Arrival to the hotel. Dinner. Overnight.

Day 4 – Korčula

Breakfast. You continue your journey towards Sućuraj (on Hvar) where you will take a ferry that will take you to the land and from there you continue driving to the valley of the river Neretva where you will enjoy in photo safari. Food and vine tasting. After that, you are going to Ston, in this unique environment which this city can offer, this Medieval little town with whose history reaches back as far as the 14th century. It has the longest stone wall in Europe (5,5km) with narrow quiet streets, noble ancient houses and with traces of ancient cultures. Its former value as a „salt city“ gets confirmed even today in the plants of the oldest active salt-workd in the world. Also famous for its oysters. Departure to Orebić from where you go by ferry to the island of Korčula. Arrival to the hotel. Dinner. Overnight.

Day 5 – Korčula – NP Mljet

After breakfast you are going to daily excursion to the island Mljet by boat. Mljet is a national park the most beautiful and most forested island in the Adriatic sea. Untouched nature, the island’s mysticism, olive groves, vineyards and rich forests are ideal places to research the rich flora and fauna and to peacefully enjoy the beauty of the natural surroundings. It is famous for it’s Big and Small saled lakes. On the Big lake is a little island St. Marry that is very visited because of the remains of Roman buildings and Benedictine monastery with tower. Return to the hotel. Dinner. Overnight.

Day 6 – Korčula

Breakfast. Sightseeing of Korčula with a professional guide. Korčula is famous as a birth place of a famous traveller and explorer Marko Polo and you can visit his house which was in the meanwhile turned into a museum. Immerse yourself in Korčula’s narrow walkways and discover adorned palaces and elegant houses while in the evening follow the fading light to reveal a glorius Adriatic sunset.With is architecture of streets that resemble a fishbone and a central square Korčula is often called little Dubrovnik. It is one of the best preserved medieval town of Mediterranean. Free afternoon. Dinner. Overnight.

Day 7 – Elaphiti Islands

Breakfast. Departure on a daily excursion to the Elaphiti islands (group of islands situated west from Dubrovnik) by boat. You’ll be able to admire Croatian beautiful coastline, imagine what it’s like is to actually live here and find refreshment in summer sea breeze. Each island is specific enough to impress you with its special beauty, and yet they are so similar to each other, you will feel that their secrecy for the moment turns into a warm welcome. The three biggest island Šipan, Lopud and Koločep are the most visited due to its numerous churches, chapels and luxurious summer houses. Lunch on the boat during the excursion. Return to the hotel. Dinner. Overnight.

Day 8 – Dubrovnik

After breakfast you are heading to Dubrovnik. City tour with a professional guide, where you will see the Stradun, Franciscan monastery, Onofrio’s fountain, Orlando’s column, St Vlaho Cathedral… Through the centuries Dubrovnik was not only the city but also a country – representative of culture metropolis, a place where romance becomes a reality. You should discover the enchanting beauty of the stone, which is simply breathtaking. The city is unigue and has a world famous cultural heritage which is why it was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List. Free afternoon for exploring. Dinner. Overnight.

Day 9 – Dubrovnik

Breakfast. Today is the last day of our tour. After breakfast, your tour leader and driver will drive you to Dubrovnik Airport where you are expecting your flight back home. We wish you a safe journey and we hope that you will always gladly remember Croatia and have great memories of these nine days spent with us.
