Description

This unique tour of Split will have you kick-start your adventure under the spellbinding mural on Plinarska Street. We will dive into the maze of the charming and vibrant Varoš neighbourhood and make our way to Poljud Stadium, an architectural marvel that is home to Hajduk Split – one of Croatia’s oldest football clubs with a cult following. During our exterior tour of the stadium, you’ll learn about the Mediterranean Games, Hajduk’s storied history, and the passionate Torcida supporters who fill the stadium with an unparalleled atmosphere on match days.

From Poljud, our journey continues to Marjan, Split’s “lungs,” a lush hill offering stunning views over the city and the sea. Along the way, we’ll pause at Bene, where you’ll learn about the intriguing origins of Zinfandel, a grape variety that has a surprising connection to the Dalmatian Coast. As we ascend Marjan, a stop at the Institute and the quaint St. Jere Church provides a tranquil moment amidst the verdant scenery. It’s a stunning location that embodies the fusion of natural beauty and cultural heritage that characterizes Split.

We’ll then wind our way back through Varoš to the Matejuška dock, a timeless social hub in Split, which has been a beloved meeting point for locals for decades. Our guides will share some factual stories of the grand Diocletian’s Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage site that served as a retirement home for Roman Emperor Diocletian and now forms the city’s bustling centre. From here, we’ll meander along the vibrant Riva promenade, and pass through the lively Pazar market and under the majestic Golden Gate, a testament to Split’s rich Roman heritage.

The grand finale of our tour is a wine-tasting experience at the Jelaska House, located directly opposite the Croatian National Theatre. Conclude this remarkable and dynamic tour with a toast at a charming venue, where you can indulge in our delectable local wines, complemented by traditional flavours of local cheeses and prosciutto!
